All Progressives Congress (APC) national leader and frontline presidential aspirant Bola Tinubu is back in Nigeria after attending the small hajj also known as Umrah in Saudi Arabia.

Naija News learned that the former Governor of Lagos arrived in the country through Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos State on Friday evening.

Tinubu, who spent three days in Saudi Arabia for the Islamic ritual, was received at Lagos airport by some of his supporters and associates.

The Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi said he would not dump the All Progressives Congress (APC) if he did not win the party’s 2023 presidential ticket.

Amaechi who is one of the contenders for the APC ticket said his loyalty remains with the party regardless of the outcome of the presidential primaries.

He also pledged to support whoever eventually emerges as the APC’s candidate for the presidency 2023.

The minister was quoted in a statement Saturday from his media office as making the submission on Friday during a consultative meeting with APC members and stakeholders in Rivers State.

The Chairman of Ibarapa Central People’s Democratic Party in Oyo State, Alhaji Abiola Azeez decamped to the All Progressive Congress, APC.

Naija News understands that Azeez was among others who defected to the country’s ruling party alongside a member of the House of Representatives representing Ibarapa Central/Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, Hon. Ajibola Saubana Muraina.

The politicians confirmed their defection to the APC on Saturday during a program organized by the Oyo State branch of the APC to welcome new members to the party.

Naija News understands that Muraina, who is in his third term in the green chamber, was elected on the PDP platform in 2019.

The former legislator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District, Shehu Sani claimed on Saturday that President Muhammadu Buhari would have protested if the administration of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan had run up debts like the current government.

The People’s Democratic Party gubernatorial aspirant said during an ongoing session on Twitter Spaces with Daily Trust.

Sani lamented that Nigeria never borrowed as much as it did under the Buhari administration.

The former lawmaker further said that the current government continues to borrow everywhere despite the level of indebtedness the country has.

The former legislator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District, Shehu Sani said on Saturday that insecurity persists in Nigeria because the president is weak to act.

Sani said so during a Twitter Spaces session with Daily Trust on “Insecurity and the 2023 general election.

According to Sani, if attacks continue across the country and nothing is achieved, it is the president’s responsibility to withdraw those in charge of security and bring in new ones.

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu presented his nomination for Governor and Expression of Interest forms to Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

The governor made the disclosure on his Twitter page on Saturday morning where he also showed a photo of Tinubu posing with his own presidential nomination forms.
